Description
Our bloomy white-rinded organic cheese. Gert Lush is a sophisticated, nuanced take on the classic white-rinded cheese – a camembert if you will. The rind is not chewy, nor is it too thick, and there is some good geo and candidum development which means the paste is fully broken down, and very unlike other British bloomy rinds. A crowd pleaser. Gert Lush was awarded a Gold at the Artisan Cheese Awards 2022 and one star at the Great Taste Awards 2022.
Gert Lush means “very lovely” in West Country dialect.
Cheese comes only in 220g maple box (yay, totally compostable) and unfortunately has to be shrink wrapped in single use plastic (boo) – if you have any alternative solutions to keeping cheeses nice and fresh, whilst being able to view them too, please let us know – there needs to be some serious innovation in this area. So forgive this small lapse of sustainability.
Recommended Retail Price is £8-12 depending on where you buy your cheese (hello Mayfair).
If you want to buy several of these cheeses we recommend buying four or more cheeses or T shirts which then we can post to you for £40 including P&P. Otherwise the postage is too onerous as it costs us £7.80 for next day delivery using DHL before we’ve packed in an insulated box, with an ice pack etc.
You can also mix and match any of our cheeses in a box sent to you, though if you do this, you could just buy one of Four Cheese Coffers which includes a free pack of biscuits….
