Description
A soft, blue, organic cow’s cheese, delicately bathed in ale.
Rebel Nun is the sister cheese to Renegade Monk. More Penicillium Roquefortii is used in the recipe, resulting in a more pronounced mineral blue in the taste, with less of the rind-washed taste.
Rebel Nun is generally perceived as being milder than Renegade Monk – although, with the increased in the quantity of blue culture, this is something of a moot point.
Cheese comes only in 220g maple box (yay, totally compostable) and unfortunately has to be shrink wrapped in single use plastic (boo) – if you have any alternative solutions to keeping cheeses nice and fresh, whilst being able to view them too, please let us know – there needs to be some serious innovation in this area. So forgive this small lapse of sustainability.
Recommended Retail Price is £8-12 depending on where you buy your cheese (hello Mayfair).
If you want to buy more than one of these cheeses we recommend buying four or more units of this or other cheeses/T shirts which then we can post to you for £40 including P&P. Otherwise the postage is too onerous as it costs us £7.80 for next day delivery using DHL before we’ve packed in an insulated box, with an ice pack etc.
You can of course mix and match with the other cheeses available, though why you wouldn’t then just order the Four Cheese Coffer and get a free pack of biscuits is to be queried…
